Learn how to plan and run deep dives safely between 18-40m.The SSI Deep Diving specialty course covers special equipment considerations, calculating your gas consumption and using your dive computer, managing nitrogen narcosis, preventing decompression sickness and handling potential problems correctly to get the most out of your deep dive adventures.
This is a very useful specialty course for everyone seeking to go deeper or interested in becoming a technical diver. The Deep Diver training is the ideal preparation for diving wrecks like the SS Thistlegorm and is a prerequisite to technical diving courses.
During four deep dives with your instructor, you’ll go over:
- Specialized deep diving equipment.
- Deep dive planning, buddy contact procedures and buoyancy control.
- Calculating air consumption.
- Managing your gas supply, dealing with gas narcosis and safety considerations.
Prerequisites
- One day guided diving with Camel before start
- SSI Open Water or equivalent.
